Default Solar Power Music

Hi,

In search for Renewable Energy information, I came across this forum here.

I am a music producer living in the Caribbean. Lot's of sunshine. This sunshine, I use to record all songs Turtuga Blanku is making. My small studio runs completely on solar energy. Obviously, the songs have got a kind of sunny feeling to them .

I use Turtuga Blanku's myspace page not only to promote music, but also to promote the way the music is produced. (This will be done in more detail on the official Turtuga Blanku website [still under construction]).

I hope you do not consider this posting too spammy, but I wanted to share my way of using solar power with you..simply to show that solar power can be used in all types of businesses, without much restrictions.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'll be off checking out this forum! :)

regards,

Turtuga Blanku

Thumbs up Re: Solar Power Music

I hope all your panels are hurricane proof!
My solar electric systems with pure sinewave inverters in my garage and Earthship power a nuber of tube and solid state amps, keyboard, effects, and recorders. A number of fantastic guitars play Hendrix style blues rock/metal with a little help from my fingers! Solar amps and guitars, and computers, and everything here.
It should be mandatory for homes and businesses in all good solar areas, in my opinion.

Smile Re: Solar Power Music

I thought Tortuga was in the Caribbean either as the Dry Tortugas west of Key West, or the one that is part of Haiti on the north side (both in the hurricane zone). There is an uninhabited one called El Tortuga just off the central Venzuelan coast, and another in the Gulf of California which would not have reggae music, and is the only one not in a hurricane zone.
Here, I thought, that with the Caribbean style music and name, that's where you would be. Or the name, which means white turtle or tortoise in Spanish, would put you on some former Spanish held island or gathering place for sea turtles.
I am in the sun belt of central Colorado at 9,000', and it is cold and sunny with granite formations, pines and aspens. A "Rocky Mountain High" place, and I wish we had a winter island. The sea is a place good for the soul, also. It has been too long since I visited.

I am in the Caribbean alright, just not in the hurricane belt. The name 'Turtuga Blanku' indeed means (literally translated) 'white turtle', but it is used to name the turtle which in English goes by 'green turtle'.

So, 'Turtuga Blanku' is the name I use for my (eco-)music alter ego, but is not the name of the island I live on.

That is great that you make all of your music using solar energy! I will check out your music (and website).

I have solar panels installed at my home. I truly believe that we should all use renewable/solar energy and I am trying to get all of my family and friends to join me. :)

Thanks for sharing your story and how you use solar power and solar energy. I think that we need to educate people more to show them the different ways each of them could use solar energy. Not everybody will be able to install solar panels for their home or use solar energy for their businesses but there are many ways EVERYONE can save the environment - your example is just one way. :)

Thanks again for sharing and I will check out your music and website!
