Hi all
Just posting a message here to introduce myself and a project i am part of in the village of Shipka, Bulgaria.
In short its a permaculture inspired project, where we hope to spread what we are learning and continue to learn more as we create and encourage others to create abundant, respectful and beautiful place's to dwell in. If you happen upon this area please feel free to visit.
Take a look at our site for more info

Hello. I visited your site. I searched for solar and wind power, recycled building materials, Earthship, passive solar design-----NOTHING!!! Just what is so environmental about the place?:GEEK:

Hi
im quite surprised by this response to be honest ,we make no claims to being off grid or sustainable only that we are striving for that and would like to share our experience with others and seek encouragement from them.
If you visted us, which you are very welcome to, i think you will find that what we are doing here is good work ,there is many plans for the future and step by step im sure we will achieve them.
Im sorry you feel so negative about our efforts but please look again and you will see that you have judged us unfairly.

Well, it isn't that negative, it is just that I saw little environmental parts except growing your food and using a sun oven.
The Earthship books by Michael Reynolds (1, 2, and 3) show true permaculture and environmentalism, and some Earthship villages.
There is so much more to it, that I hope you read the books.

I did see books on using humanure compost, buying locally grown, and gray water systems. All things needed to be done. I also saw your forest gardens and wondered how you keep deer and rabbits from eating your vegetables?

Hi
Where we live in Bulgaria the deer and rabbits do not have much need to wander away from the deep forest so i have no firsthand advice to give you but i should think a dog would be the quick fix. Our Dogs here certainly keep the weasels and polcats away. I have also heard other people use a buffer of thorny plants these mammals do not like to eat around the perimeter of their garden.
Sorry i could not be more help
all the best
Paul
