Hi Guys & Girls,

Just wanted to congratulate you all on a great site and ask for you help.

I am based in Brisbane and upon becoming aware that our QLD state Govt has just ignored a 250 000 petition signature from Terri irwin asking that they don't give mining rights to Cape Alumina Pty Ltd to mine the Wenlock River Basin & Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve I was appalled.

So I have decided to commit myself to changing this.

In March 2010 Cape Alumina will be presenting an Environmental Impact Study to the QLD Govt. This is the study the QLD Govt has stated it will largely base its decision on whether to grant mining rights to Cape Alumina or not.

While I am an not anti-mining at all costs, I do belive mining companies can't just chase the big dollar but need tobe environmentally aware. Mining the Wenlock River Basin and destrying its unique ecology is just not on.
